STOP! 🛑 You Are Overcomplicating Email Marketing
It seems there is a trend to overcomplicate email marketing. Day after day, I see people push the idea of multiple complicated funnels, when in reality, the simpler email marketing is, the more profitable it is.
Years ago, I was all for complicated funnels and automations. It made me feel clever, but then I did something everyone should do… I tested everything.
The results were shocking:
Lead Magnet => Automation => Sales sequence $1 per subscriber
Lead Magnet => Automation => Engagement sequence = $6+ per subscriber
The simpler you make email marketing, the better.
Let’s break it down.
The Two Parts of Email Marketing
Forget everything you’ve learned. There are only two elements of email marketing you need to focus on:
• Attracting Subscribers
• Engaging With Your Subscribers
That it!
If you can do both things, you can and will sell your offers to your audience.
Focus on just those two, and I promise you success is just around the corner.
This is the result of an email to a list of 82 people who were engaged…. EIGHTY TWO

Engaging With Subscribers
What’s more engaging, a fact-based documentary or a well-written TV drama?
I think the image below answers that question. There’s not a documentary in sight.
What do they have in common?
They are story-led; people love stories and anecdotes and it’s in our DNA to pay attention when we hear or read a story.
So led that guide you.
Start to bring more stories into your emails. Base your email sequences around stories that deliver lessons. Don’t buy copywriting books buy scriptwriting books.
Every single email I’ve sent that made more than $1000 has been story-based, no exceptions.
In one year, I sent 47 emails that generated over $1000 each, and in that one year, every email was story-based.
